forget-me-nots

forget-me-nots
if you can spare 20 minutes out of your busy hectic day i would recommend listening to this sweet message given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. it brought peace to my mind and comfort to my heart as i remember that i am a daughter of God and that He loves me and has not and will not ever forget me.

"The “what” and “how” of obedience marks the way, yes, and it keeps us on the right path. But the “why” of obedience sanctifies our actions, transforming the mundane into the majestic. It magnifies our small acts of obedience into holy acts of consecration."
...
Sisters, wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love."

four years

today i thought i would sneak up on the hubs as he went to do some serving...

i love him. and i have a hard time thinking it's been a whole whopping four years. we have been so many great and amazing places have made the most incredible memories and i have grown to love him so much more each day. i realize its the corny saying that you love the person more today then you did when you first married them, but it's true. i remember working in young womens and the girls asking what is the most attractive thing i find about husband. and what i said then i still feel now. i find julius most attractive when we are going to the temple together or when i see him teaching primary. i feel so grateful to have married my best friend and for the blessing of a temple marriage. i love you babe and can't wait for the next four and many many more years after that!
love you

this is no jet-puffed marshmallow

i'm not the biggest fan of surprises. im usually trying to pry it out of husband before he even gets done saying surprise. but when i came home today i found this cute little bag waitin' on me and oh how the butterflies started fluttering.

i am not in love with marshmallows...but my goodness this in no jet-puffed marshmallow. i do not know what makes this marshmallow sooooo much more better than it's cousin jet-puffed but it might be the fact that it's covered in chocolate and has peanuts on top also drenched in chocolate. it is so good! thanks babe

journey to the top

this past weekend we went to downtown st. louis and visited the national monument the gateway arch. the architecture was beautiful along with the weather. somehow having the sun shining makes the trip that much better and having time with the husband holding hands walking down the bustling streets of st. louis.

did you know...that you can go up into the arch? well i didn't until julius informed me. first thought that came into my mind..."no way dude, not happein'." well, it happened. and it was really neat and not that claustrophobic (BIG plus in my book). as we approached the loading area i felt as if was entering the elevator from the movie charly and the chocolate factory (the first one) but smaller. we fit 5 not so comfortably in our elevator #8. it took 4 minutes going up and as you're going up the elevator adjust itself to the curve which was interesting..smooth sailing up to the top and then we took a chance to take a few pictures and headed back down. definitely something to put on your to do list if you're ever in st. louis.

it was a nice day and another place to add the list.

the "willy wonka" elevator doors

inside the elevator- julius' head hit the top so he had to slouch the whole time

on our journey to the top.

and this is us 630 ft in the air. oh and the rectangles behind us..find em' yet. ya those are the windows.

drills

i missed drills today. the past two tuesday mornings at 8 i would go with my mom to her tennis drills (drills is a tennis lesson with a tennis pro and 6-8 women, where the practice and work on their game) the first drills i went to was a little intimidating. especially since
#1 i have never had a professional lesson
#2 i have never played other than for fun
#3 i basically only play julius (and when i say play basically what ends up going down is him kicking my trash to the curb as i run around trying to return his "winners")
but to my amazement it was a complete blast. my mom's friends/teammates were so kind and patient with me as i tired to get the hang of the drill or specific skill they were working on with hayden (the tennis pro). and now it's tuesday again and i'm missing drills.

(please those of you who are tennis pro's do not be too harsh of critics with the above pictures and my "form")

henry

soo..at my parents home they have a sun room and every so often a creature gets confused and stuck trying to figure out how to get out. it just so happens that this time it was a hummingbird ( and i have named henry). i'm not sure how long henry had been in there but he was winding down and close to giving up. i think there's only so many times henry's little body could take flying into the skylight thinking he'd get out. it was sad. mom and i took him outside after his last attempt at the skylight failed and he fluttered to the ground landing so gently and panting (for a lack of better words). he was beautiful and as we took him outside and were setting him down near the grass he flew away. i like to think that he is alive and well and doing what hummingbirds to do best eating from those little red bird feeders :)
one of henry's numerous attempts of trying to break through the skylight

i love his tiny tallens

is he not the most beautiful hummingbird EVER

the weekend

so saturday mom and i left at 5 am (yikes! tell me about it) to drive to bolivar missouri to watch tyler's first home football game. it's about a 7 1/2 hour drive not to incredibly long but still well, long. anyway the weekend was longer than anticpaited mainly because tyler's truck wasn't starting and we had to wait till monday to get it fixed. long story short...we had to stay and extra night in the happening town of bolivar..(insert sarcasm now)

the husband came down for the sunday afternoon which was a fun surprise (he's been working in st. louis this past week and i've been staying in keller with my parents preparing for an interview for an instructor postion and a massage school but i'll get back to that later) one week has felt like months for some reason and it was so great seeing him..i got butterflies and all :)

um lets see what else we did...we drove around a LOT and missouri is beautiful. went to the football game. we went to walmart a LOT and walmart isn't so beautiful in bolivar. but over all it was a fun trip and it was great to see tyler. i miss that kid. stupid college.

oh yes..and lots of pictures..so enjoy
 sunrise sat morning

i could not get over those clouds.

 KICKOFF
the fire engine had its ladder extended with a flag hanging from the basket. it was a special tribute for the victims of 9.11. we will never forget.

some ominous clouds rolled themselves on in.
 me and the momma
this picture just cracks me up. tyler caught it one handed mid-stride, but it looks like he's just holding it like a goon.

these clouds were for reals. it was lovely.

mr. cow did not trust me one bit...or he was just a little camera shy

thank you missouri for the remarkable landscapes and open skies.
