julius and i went to Nauvoo, Illinois this past weekend and what a marvelous, spiritual and uplifting trip it was. i was ecstatic all week to go and visit the historic sites left by the saints of Nauvoo and to take a road trip with the husband. i think roadtrips are one of my favorite things to do with him because we honestly talk the entire way and i have such fun memories of our conversations, dreams and goals for the future. but back to nauvoo...there is a spirit that resides there like no other i have felt when visiting other historic church sites other than some of the places we visited on our Book of Mormon tour to central america. it was remarkable to see the town and think how much was accomplished by the saints in such a short span of time of only 6 years. it was beautiful. the temple was remarkable and so majestic it stands as a symbol for so much more than beauty but i am so grateful that it was rebuilt and i hope the saints that have passed on and that sacraficed things beyond my comprehension that they can look down and know what they had started was finished.

those are some amazing pictures and i'm going to download them and use them as desktop backgrounds and screensavers.
thanks
I love your thoughts about those who have passed on. I'm grateful for our legacy...we have relatives who helped build the Nauvoo & Kirkland Temples. How grateful I am for their sacrifices and to be part of their posterity and heritage. I am thankful for the truthfulness of the gospel and the promises of the temple! Love you both!
Sounds like you two had an amazing time. Your pictures are incredible. You've mastered it!
